2008/5/6 Rally and demonstration in Tokyo during Hu Jintao's state visit to Japan

We welcome all those who love peace, democracy and know the importance of human rights. We want to make the demonstration on 5/6 as large as possible, so invite your friends. While SFT is participating in this event, it is organized and hosted by the Save Tibet Network and TSNJ.

Details about the rally and demonstration can be found on TSNJ's English website: http://www.geocities.jp/t_s_n_j/doc/20080322-Demo-en.html

[ Important ] 2008/4/26 - About SFT's action

The fact that the Tibetans themselves want to express themselves in a way that is non-violent, peaceful, legal, and within the framework of Japanese law, has become our highest priority. For this reason the way that the roadside appeal during the Olympic torch relay will be carried out has been changed (We are not finished with talks with the police and public administration, so none of this is set in stone). SFT's role in this appeal was limited to those Tibetans who applied before hand. There is not any general participation open for the torch relay. For further information, please see the blog.

Beijin 2008 Games Over TIBET

The Chinese government has promised to improve its human rights situation to host the 2008 Olympics, and the event that is supposed to celebrate diverse ethnic cultures is about to be held in a few months.
However, the actual situation in Tibet has not changed at all. The world turns a blind eye to Tibet where our ethnic pride has been violated, to allow China to hold this worldwide event. As a Tibetan, I can not just remin silent and accept this situation.

This will be the first protest by Tibetans in front of the Chinese Embassy in Japan, since March 10, 1959 when His Holiness the Dalai Lama was forced to exile from Tibet.

This will be a non-violent, peaceful protest which abides by the Japanese law. We obtained a permission from the local police station for this activity. Your understanding. support, and participation will be most welcome!
